Written instructions
Ask for clear instructions covering cleaning, eating, activity, medication and any treatment-specific restrictions.
Your Journey. Our Priority.
Dental tourism aftercare
Aftercare should be planned before you fly home. Know the clinic instructions, review schedule, contact pathway and what to do if you have a concern after returning to Australia.

Keep your instructions, records and contact details organised before returning home.
Speak with our Australian-based team, backed by first-hand experience of major dental treatment in Vietnam.
Understand the clinic process, likely treatment timing and travel arrangements before deciding.
Receive support with clinic communication, translator, accommodation and travel co-ordination.
After dental treatment
Aftercare depends on the treatment you receive. Before leaving the clinic, make sure you understand what to do, what to avoid, when the clinic wants to review you and who to contact if you are concerned.
Ask for clear instructions covering cleaning, eating, activity, medication and any treatment-specific restrictions.
Know whether the dentist expects a review before you fly home and whether another appointment or later return to Vietnam is required.
Keep the clinic and Your Smile Journey contact details available so you know who to contact with non-urgent questions after returning home.
Back in Australia
If you develop significant pain, swelling, bleeding, fever or another symptom that concerns you, contact the treating clinic and seek appropriate local dental or medical assessment when needed. Urgent problems should be assessed urgently.
Your Smile Journey can help with communication but cannot diagnose a problem or replace a dentist.
Implants & staged treatment
Implant treatment may involve a healing period and later restorative appointments. The exact timing depends on your individual case and the treating dentist's plan.
Before leaving Vietnam, ask what the next stage is, what should happen during the healing period and when the clinic needs to see you again.
Your records
Keep the final plan and itemised treatment details.
Keep information about implants, crowns or other materials used where supplied.
Ask what X-rays, scans or clinical information can be provided for your records and future dental care.
Better smile. Better life. Better value.
Send us your details and our team will help you understand what information the clinic needs to prepare an initial treatment estimate.
